WHAT IS COLLAGEN?
Collagen is the protein powerhouse found in the bones and connective tissues in the body. It is a foundational building block that provides strength and structure to these tissues, playing a crucial role to help support the maintenance of mobile joints, stable bones, strong ligaments, tendons and muscles, as well as firm, healthy skin.

PRIME YOUR BODY FOR EXCERCISE
Our collagen protein bars are your ultimate pre-workout snack. Eating 30-60 minutes before training maximises the collagen benefits, helping to prime your connective tissues and assist with any healing tendons and ligaments.
WHAT KIND OF COLLAGEN DO WE USE? WHY?
We use hydrolysed collagen peptides, which is a bovine derived collagen made from grass-fed animal tissues. These tissues have been broken down using a process called hydrolysis, which produces a highly digestible and bioavailable form of collagen.
Our formula is based on the latest scientific research, which has used bovine collagen as it is very easily absorbed and broken down by the body. After consuming collagen, we assist our body with increasing the amount of collagen peptides present within our blood to recover and heal tendons by shifting the balance of supply vs demand. During periods of heavy training or injury, this balance can be altered, which leaves our bodies susceptible to a greater risk of injury.
WHY DOES MY BODY NEED MORE COLLAGEN?
Collagen is one of the key structural proteins in the human body that is mainly found within fibrous tissues such as tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bones. Although the body naturally produces collagen, our bodies produce less collagen as we grow older. This is greatly affected by environmental stresses such as sun exposure, nutrition, skin damage and exposure to toxins (such as pollutants and cigarette smoke).
WHY IS COLLAGEN GOOD FOR MY GUT?
Collagen is a great low allergenic and gut friendly protein source. It is easily digested and absorbed by the gut to replenish our amino acid stores, which assist with repairing and healing our lean muscle mass so that we recover appropriately.
WHO SHOULD EAT COLLAGEN BARS?
My Muscle Chef Collagen Bars are a natural, healthy snack that can be enjoyed by anyone. Our bars can also be used as a priming option pre-exercise to assist with tendon and ligament injuries when timed appropriately prior to an exercise or rehab session (ideally 30-60 minutes beforehand).
Note: As we use bovine collagen peptides (derived from grass fed cows), our bars are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
WHEN SHOULD I EAT COLLAGEN BARS?
Our collagen bars are a great pre-workout snack as studies have shown that collagen peptides speed up the collagen synthesis within tendons and ligaments when consumed 30-60 minutes prior to performing exercise. This ensures your body is primed and ready for a solid workout!
These tasty protein bars are also perfect to help keep you feeling full and satisfied in between meals, as they are filled with natural healthy fats as well as our naturally satisfying collagen protein.
